From Wound to Wisdom
A shamanic approach to healing emotional trauma
Turn your wounds into wisdom. Here is how the work in From Wound to Wisdom — and in Alberto’s mentorship — approaches emotional wounds, conditioning and trauma.
Wounds as teachers
The painful parts of our history are not only something to survive. Held with care, they also carry teachings. The aim of this work is not to forget what happened, and not to relive it endlessly, but to let go of the emotional charge of your memories — so you can see what there is to learn and live more freely today.
Alberto Curcio Linares helps people through their healing of emotional wounds, conditioning and trauma. Through thoughtful questions, he guides you through your life story, bringing your attention to the places that need healing, growth and transformation.
We carry it within
We attract into our experiences what we carry within.
From Wound to Wisdom
From this point of view, the situations that keep repeating in our lives are not random. The book describes the Universal Energy as a mirror, “reciprocating our vibration with energies that resonate in the same frequency.” What is unresolved inside tends to show up again outside — in relationships, at work, in the same kinds of conflict.
This is not about blame. It is an invitation to look inward with honesty and ask: How am I attracting this situation into my experience?
How the work goes
- Your life storyThoughtful questions about your history: significant or traumatic events, family dynamics, childhood and teenage years, and the area of your life where you most need help now.
- Triggers as signpostsThe situations that trigger you are not flaws to hide. Triggers are the signposts that point towards the areas within ourselves that need attention.
- Recurring patternsThe work is to match traumatic situations with recurring situations throughout your life and with your triggers. When the pattern becomes visible, it can be addressed.
- Releasing the chargeBy addressing these areas, you can let go of the emotional charge of your memories and begin to see what teachings there are to harvest from your past.
- Living it every dayThe eight principles of self-love give the inner work a foundation, so healing can take root in daily life. As the book puts it, reprogramming our beliefs allows us “to act instead of being reactive.”
You can try the first steps on your own with the integration questions for your healing journey.
Why “shamanic”?
The book is subtitled “A shamanic approach to healing emotional trauma”. Rather than seeing a person as a collection of problems, it sees each of us as part of a larger, living whole — our relationships, our work, our humanity and Mother Earth. Healing is part of a spiritual path that, in the book’s words, we embark on “from before the moment we are born until the moment we let go of our bodies and journey into the unknown.”
The true leader within is the Heart-center; the mind is only a tool.
From Wound to Wisdom
The goal is to reconnect with your inner teacher: the wisdom that is already in you, and that becomes easier to hear as old wounds lose their grip.
A foundation of self-love
Before deep inner work, the book lays a foundation of eight principles of self-love. Each one has its own short page:
