A tool for inner work

Integration questions for your healing journey

Six questions from Alberto to help you look at your life story with honesty and care — and to locate the areas that are asking for attention.

Take your time with these. You might print the page and write your answers by hand, coming back to them over several days. There are no right answers; what matters is that they are honest.

If a question brings up strong emotions, go slowly. Pause, breathe, and come back another day if you need to. You do not have to do this alone — reach out to someone you trust or to a professional for support.

Integration questions:

  1. Have you had any traumatic events in your life? If so, do you feel at peace with the event and what did you learn from it?
  2. What area of your life do you need help with?
  3. Are there any similarities with your current life situation and your family dynamics, childhood and/or teenage years?
  4. Are there any specific situations that trigger you? If so, list the triggers.
  5. Is there any connection between your childhood/ teenage situations and your current triggers?
  6. Are there any uncomfortable recurring past situations that are happening in your current life? If so, ask yourself: How am I attracting this situation into my experience?

The work is to match traumatic situations with recurring situations throughout your life and with your triggers. Triggers are the signposts that point towards the areas within ourselves that need attention. Any part of our personal history that we feel uncomfortable with needs attention and healing. These questions are intended to help locate the areas where there are unresolved matters. By addressing these areas, you can let go of the emotional charge of your memories and drop into the space of being able to see what teachings are to harvest from your past.

Working through your answers

These questions are the same kind of thoughtful questions Alberto uses in his work. If you would like support in connecting your answers — matching past events with your triggers and the patterns that keep repeating — you are welcome to book a consultation. You can also read more about the shamanic approach to healing emotional trauma and the eight principles of self-love that support this work.

A gentle note. This work is spiritual and educational in nature. It complements, and does not replace, the care of a licensed mental health professional or medical treatment. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis line right away.
